Bay Leaves

Bay leaf is an aromatic leaf that comes from the bay laurel tree, which is native to the Mediterranean region. It is a member of the laurel family (Lauraceae) and is commonly used as a culinary herb.

Bay leaves are famous in West Africa as it is an important ingredient for the legendary Jollof Rice it is also often used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, where they are added to dishes such as tomato sauce, roasted meats, and fish dishes. They are also a key ingredient in classic French dishes such as bouillabaisse and beef bourguignon.
